Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our medical support team, you will work closely with our veterinarians to deliver excellent patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the restraint and handling of animals for examination and treatment
  • Support veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures
  • Take vital signs, including weights and temperatures
  • Operate radiology software for medical records and lab submissions
  • Take digital photos of procedures and save to patient records
  • Run in-house lab specimens and record results
  • Prepare lab forms and specimens for out-of-office labs
  • Import lab and radiographic data into patient records
  • Manage and oversee medical treatments, including administering SQ fluids and placing IV catheters
  • Administer and oversee anesthesia, surgical, and dental treatments under veterinarian direction
  • Take high-quality digital radiographs
  • Complete medical records entries for patients
  • Ensure patient comfort, feeding, and cleanliness
  • Bathe animals as necessary
  • Monitor and maintain controlled drug logs
  • Setup medications and fill prescriptions
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Contribute to the maintenance of hospital areas
Requirements
  • Veterinary Technician License Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree in a related field preferred
  • At least one to two years' experience preferred
  • Experience handling a variety of animals
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Basic math and writing skills
  • Ability to express compassion
  • Advanced understanding of diseases, medications, and anesthesia
  • Understanding of vaccinations, basic laboratory tests, common diseases, and pet behavior
  • Knowledge of computer software (Infinity and Office programs)
