Position Overview
The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, engaging with Interior Designers while delivering exceptional product knowledge, sales expertise, and customer service. We seek a professional individual who is highly organized and possesses experience in the Interior Design sector.
Showroom Responsibilities
- Welcome interior designers and visitors upon arrival at the showroom.
- Handle customer inquiries via phone and email.
- Provide detailed information regarding our company and product offerings.
- Assist in preparing quotes, writing orders, and managing delivery schedules, including tracking and loaning finish samples.
- Document and package items for customer approval.
- Ensure effective communication with the home office to guarantee timely processing of customer orders.
- Continuously seek improvements in showroom operations and efficiency.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Ardmore Home Design product lines.
- Oversee daily showroom operations in the absence of the Showroom Manager.
Sales Administration Duties
- Maintain regular internal communication with corporate staff to support customer quotes, orders, and product deliveries using internal systems.
- Engage in outreach efforts to both potential and existing customers.
- Participate in events outside the showroom as needed.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with the Showroom Manager to design and implement projects aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
- Manage the inventory of finish samples and product tags.
- Assist in planning and executing showroom events.
- Support the Showroom Manager with various projects and appointments as required.
- Occasional travel to industry trade shows may be necessary.
Field Sales Activities
- Dedicate up to two full days in the field to meet with existing and potential clients.
- During scheduled appointments, distribute samples and promotional materials, update the library, and promote Ardmore Home Design brands.
- Identify sales opportunities and tailor product offerings to specific projects.
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in design firms.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Some college education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in showroom or retail sales with a focus on customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiar with social media platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong ability to multitask and solve problems with a proactive approach.
- A friendly and positive demeanor, capable of fostering strong customer relationships.
- A hands-on, can-do attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to lift 30-40 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Background
- Experience in the home furnishings industry.
- Aesthetic sensibility regarding color and design.
- Established relationships with local Interior Design firms are advantageous.
Compensation
The starting annual salary for this position is $75,000, with variations based on skills, experience, and location.
