Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Children's Hospital New Orleans. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments and triage to ensure timely and effective care
  • Utilize clinical judgment to identify abnormal values and report changes in patient status to the designated physician
  • Obtain vital signs and establish priorities of care
  • Ensure the use of patient identifiers and adhere to specimen labeling policies
  • Document patient-related activities after approval by the physician
  • Perform blood draws and point-of-care testing as established by ED-approved standing orders
  • Report abnormal findings to the nurse in charge and document in the medical record
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic/Pediatric patient care required
  • Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – Paramedic level and Certified by the State of Louisiana as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic level
  • American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certifications required
  • CPI obtained within 6 months of hire
