The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont is seeking a dedicated academic Surgical Pathologist for a full-time faculty appointment. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a vibrant and diverse academic community, contributing to the excellence of the institution through research, teaching, and service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide diagnostic pathology for patients served in Vermont, upstate New York, and New Hampshire, resulting in a total of 45,000 surgical pathology specimens annually.
- Engage in the education and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows in general surgical pathology, dermatopathology, cytopathology, and hematopathology.
- Pursue scholarly activities and participation in clinical and/or basic science research.
- Board eligibility or certification in Anatomic Pathology.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in pulmonary pathology.
- Commitment to educational, scholarly, and clinical excellence.
- National benchmark data used for workload expectations and base salary.
- Outstanding benefits package including relocation and loan repayment assistance available through the University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group.
- Departmental funding includes up to an initial three years of academic effort to support faculty in developing their scholarly and educational activities.
