Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for providing design oversight for the production of roadway, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals, and traffic management system design plans.
You will also assist in providing oversight of the traffic control and sequencing plans throughout the construction phase of the project.
As a technical expert, you will be recognized for your authority in an area of specialization and will resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.
You will also have the opportunity to organize and supervise the work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
10 years' experience in traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges, and intersections
PE required
Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies, familiar with MassDOT, RIDOT (CTDOT would be a plus) policy and procedures
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic, Vissim, Sidra, and other software packages
Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to work in a team environment
Able to complete and compile reports
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in adaptive signalization and transit signal design as well as ITS is a plus
Diverse experience in related fields such as toll roads, roadway design, or construction is a plus
Local candidates preferred
