Job Title: Extrusion Operator IV

At Tekni-Plex, we are seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator IV to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our extrusion equipment to produce high-quality polystyrene foam sheet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and maintain extruders, grinders, pelletizers, and other support equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational and quality issues, making necessary adjustments to correct.
  • Train and mentor other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
  • Interpret SPC data and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Adhere to plant safety and housekeeping guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with SQF/HACCP requirements and our company's food safety and quality policy.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of related training and/or experience.
  • Successful completion of Extrusion Operator I, II, and III skills assessment.
  • OSHA-approved Clamp Truck Certification.
  • CPR and first-aid certification.
  • Certificate of Training for Process Safety Management.
  • Certificate of Training for Fall Restraint System.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to print simple sentences and complete reports and time cards. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.

Mathematical Skills/Equipment:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
