About the Role

The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, and interaction with patients aged 8-18. This position ensures the safety of residents and offers encouragement and guidance to promote compliance with programming. The Mental Health Technician works under the direction of the Direct Care Supervisor and is a non-exempt position reporting to the Milieu Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous patient care and supervision to residents aged 8-18
  • Ensure the safety of residents and promote compliance with programming
  • Work under the direction of the Direct Care Supervisor
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents
  • Document resident progress and behavior
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred
  • Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license
  • CPR, First Aid certification, and successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment required
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours
