We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN) to join our team at Summerville Medical Center. As a PICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children and adolescents with a wide range of diagnoses, from common childhood diseases to life-threatening illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as ventilators, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide age and culturally appropriate care to patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, their families/legal guardians, and members of the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate with and educate parents on day-to-day operations as well as home-care procedures, ensuring they are informed and empowered to support their child's recovery.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Recent Pediatric or ICU experience is preferred.
