We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Educator to join our Perianesthesia Services team at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. As a Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and evaluating the Perianesthesia orientation, staff development, and patient/family education programs.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive education programs for perianesthesia staff, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and families.
- Staff Development: Provide ongoing training and support to perianesthesia staff, promoting evidence-based practice and excellence in patient care.
- Patient/Family Education: Develop and deliver patient and family education programs, enhancing their understanding of perianesthesia care and promoting positive outcomes.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Assume a leadership role, collaborating with administration and department directors/managers to develop programs that meet the needs of patients, families, and staff.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality patient care by following Cottage Health System's and department-specific policies and procedures.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical/teaching/leadership experience in perianesthesia, with a preference for critical care and/or post anesthesia care experience in a level one trauma center.
- Skills: Knowledge of supervisory practices, techniques, and methods for staff development, as well as critical care skills (e.g., ICU, SICU, NICU, PICU).
