Junior Civil/Structural Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Civil/Structural Engineer with a background in design engineering, particularly in utility or consulting environments. The ideal candidate should possess a solid educational foundation in the design of steel and concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundational systems.

Familiarity with substation structure design, rigid bus systems, foundation engineering, site development, oil spill containment strategies, and the design of retaining walls and masonry control shelters is advantageous. This role will involve direct engagement in the civil/structural design elements necessary for creating bid and construction packages for substation initiatives.

The selected candidate will primarily execute design calculations and produce construction-grade engineering drawings consistently, under the guidance of a licensed civil engineer. Site visits to client facilities will be a routine part of the job, alongside occasional travel for client consultations and industry events. Adherence to quality control measures and safe work practices is essential, ensuring compliance with project scope, timelines, and budgetary constraints. This position is part of a collaborative design team that includes engineers, designers, and drafting professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mathcad software
  • Experience with STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software is preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, and Civil 3D software is a plus
  • Strong analytical and technical writing capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients and team members

Pay Range:

The compensation range for this position is between $48,000 and $86,950.00. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Various factors will be considered in determining the final offer, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
