Physical Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our inpatient team at ECHN. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and treating patients to improve or restore function.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients based on departmental standards and establish individualized, measurable goals for each patient.
- Conduct and modify evaluations based on patient symptoms, level of activity, and medical status.
- Treat patients with appropriate and acceptable therapeutic exercises, physical agents, and manual therapeutic techniques.
- Administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to relieve pain and/or attain established goals.
- Utilize effective techniques to assist in normalizing motor activity and learning.
- Educate patients/families in home exercise programs and/or functional activities to maximize independent functional activity.
- Determine when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate.
- Document patient care in accordance with insurance guidelines and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary approaches for in-service and community education, and in the clinical education of affiliating students.
- Graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
- Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Personal computer skills and proficiency in Windows-based programs needed for department functions.
- Basic keyboarding skills and ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet search capabilities.
- Access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites.
