Job Title: Appian Developer

We are seeking an experienced Appian Developer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our agile software development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing applications using the Appian low-code development platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Appian and web-based applications, including building Appian-based applications and associated integration components in Java.
  • Solve complex technical problems using Appian and other supporting platforms, and provide technical guidance to mid-level developers.
  • Coach others on technical best practices and foster a positive team environment focused on advanced technical knowledge and effective collaboration.
  • Assist with adding top talent to our team by participating in candidate interviews and researching, developing, and implementing new tools to speed up and simplify application development.
  • Work with business users to translate business requirements into technical designs and attend meetings related to the Office of Investigations and Professional Responsibility (AXI) or other program activities.
  • Utilize various data collection and analysis tools and scripting languages to create and validate data sets used by analysts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Appian development experience and demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies.
  • Experience in Object-Oriented programming languages, primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, and experience in working with JSON, XML, and RESTful API.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor technical staff, excellent problem-solving skills, and talent for identifying creative solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and external, and ability to interface with Architects, customers, and technical personnel to understand business processes and system requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals on all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Appian development experience and demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies.
  • Understand the differences between basic design principles in integrating to Web Services.
  • 5+ years' experience in Object-Oriented programming languages, primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, and experience in working with JSON, XML, and RESTful API.
  • 3+ years of experience in an agile delivery environment and previous FAA and/or Government contracting work experience.

Pay Range: $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
