Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. This fully-funded position includes the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in gene therapy development for retinal diseases.

About the Position

As a Postdoctoral Fellow in our lab, you will have the opportunity to design and conduct independent research projects under the supervision of Dr. Evan G. Cameron, PhD. You will be responsible for utilizing high-throughput genomic and proteomic techniques to identify critical genes and pathways involved in reactive astrocyte functions in the retina and optic nerve. Additionally, you will employ rodent ocular disease models, imaging, and behavioral assays to study the molecular, transcriptional, and functional consequences of cyclic-nucleotide signaling in reactive retinal and optic nerve astrocytes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct independent research projects under the supervision of Dr. Evan G. Cameron, PhD.
  • Utilize high-throughput genomic and proteomic techniques to identify critical genes and pathways involved in reactive astrocyte functions in the retina and optic nerve.
  • Employ rodent ocular disease models, imaging, and behavioral assays to study the molecular, transcriptional, and functional consequences of cyclic-nucleotide signaling in reactive retinal and optic nerve astrocytes.
  • Collaborate with team members to interpret data, generate hypotheses, and design follow-up experiments.
  • Contribute to publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting results at conferences and seminars.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a PhD or MD/PhD degree. Prior experience in a research or academic setting is preferred. Scientific writing experience is also beneficial.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $73,252 - $333,340 per year, depending on experience.
