Accounting & HR Assistant - Financial Operations Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting & HR Assistant to join our team at Ascend Recruiting Partners. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting & human resources tasks and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify transaction information, schedule and prepare payments, and reconcile vendor statements.
- Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send invoices, track payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and assist in maintaining customer accounts.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software, maintain organized records, and ensure data integrity.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.
- Recruiting: Source and recruit candidates for open positions using various job boards and other databases; screen candidates; schedule interviews for hiring managers.
- ON-Boarding: Prepare new hires for onboarding and other new hire paperwork and trainings.
Requirements:
- Must have 2+ years of experience in an accounting role (A/P, A/R, Reconciliations, Monthly reports, etc.).
- Must have 2+ years of experience in human resources; preferably in recruiting (Sourcing, Job Boards, ATS, Pre-screening).
- Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks or similar.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
