Candidate Profile:
Your primary responsibility will be to provide engineering expertise on drinking water initiatives, although experience in wastewater and stormwater management is advantageous. This role allows you to lead and collaborate with a team of junior engineers while consistently interacting with mid and senior-level technical personnel and leadership throughout the organization. The perfect candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing drinking water systems. Familiarity with a wide array of issues related to master planning, treatment, and distribution systems is highly desirable. You will oversee the technical execution of various projects, must be knowledgeable about local and federal regulations, and be prepared to assist in marketing and proposal development.
Remote Work: Preferred candidate location is California.
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel, approximately 5%, primarily within California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for projects of all sizes.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to guide the technical execution of project tasks.
- Establish the overall technical strategy for projects.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders and professional organizations.
- Contribute to the development of Woodard & Curran's design guidelines and standards.
Qualifications for Success:
- 10-15 years of engineering experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer with proven technical and project delivery expertise in civil and/or environmental engineering, along with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles related to municipal water systems, including water supply, treatment processes, and distribution infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of state and EPA regulations governing water treatment and distribution systems.
- Familiarity with state bidding laws and funding programs.
- Current on the latest technological advancements, regulatory trends, equipment, and processes.
- Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation abilities.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $135,000 and $180,000 annually, with flexibility based on factors such as the candidate's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. Geographic differentials may apply to reflect variations in labor costs across different markets.
