  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Inspect and document daily construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
    • Prepare and submit daily diary/inspection reports and weekly progress reports to stakeholders.
    • Measure and record quantities of materials used and work performed to ensure accurate payment requests.
    • Review and analyze claims for extra work and change order costs to ensure fairness and accuracy.
    • Coordinate with utilities and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Interpret and apply contract plans and specifications to ensure project compliance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in highway/bridge/paving/drainage inspection and administration.
  • Knowledge of NYSDOT specifications and MURK procedures and protocol is required.
  • Basic computer skills to utilize construction software programs.
  • Recent Public Works, NYS Thruway, and DOT retirees are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: Estimated pay range is $45-60/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials.
