Pet Groomer

We are seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team at Tractor Supply Company. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to dogs, using your knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

• Deliver world-class customer satisfaction by providing personalized grooming services to dogs.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and following up with reminders.
• Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment.
• Report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager promptly and follow established safety procedures.
• Follow established bathing and grooming procedures to ensure high-quality services.
• Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other necessary services to maintain the health and well-being of dogs.
• Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns and use electric clippers, combs, and shears to achieve desired results.
• Comb and shape dogs' coats to enhance their appearance and overall health.
• Talk to dogs in a calm and soothing manner to reduce stress and anxiety.
• Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately and efficiently.
• Properly and completely fill out required grooming forms to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Observe and adhere to all safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist in store operations as needed, including restocking supplies and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience grooming or styling pets, with a strong understanding of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.
• Ability to work with dogs and cats, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Must be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
• Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities include operating and using all grooming tools and equipment, communicating effectively with customers, and displaying compassion with animals.

The working environment is favorable, with moderate noise levels. Exposure to wet conditions, pets, and pet waste is possible. The ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds, and work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends is required.

• Ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals.
• Ability to frequently move for 4-8 hours per day around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon.
• Ability to utilize grooming instruments, including shears and dryers.
• Ability to frequently lift or reach merchandise overhead.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and squat frequently to position oneself to groom animals, clean shelves, and stock merchandise and equipment.
