Job Overview

Position Title: Metal Powder Production Specialist

Department: Plant 2 Powder Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Metal Powder Production Specialist is responsible for the creation, processing, blending, and inventory management of all filler metals utilized in the production of solder and brazing pastes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Melting and Atomization

o Precisely measure alloy melt charges according to established calculation sheets.

o Load charges onto the melting platform.

o Configure atomizing furnaces and tanks in accordance with work order specifications.

o Execute the melting and atomization of alloys following process requirements and work order guidelines.

o Keep accurate records of the parameters involved in the atomization process for each production run.

o Unload atomized powders and screen them according to work order directives.

o Complete powder and re-melt receipts accurately against work orders.

· Powder Inventory Management

o Weigh, screen, and blend powder charges for paste manufacturing based on work order instructions and blending sheets.

o Prepare powder charges in suitable containers and label them with material, blend, and work order details.

o Ensure all powders are properly maintained to guarantee accurate inventories and suitable storage conditions.

o Execute work order and inventory transactions to uphold precise system inventories.

o Receive alloys and raw materials as needed.

· General Duties

o Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure materials are easily accessible, stored correctly, and to minimize the risk of cross-contamination or misidentification.

o Ensure all equipment is kept in good working condition and assist with maintenance as required.

o Conduct housekeeping and 5S tasks in the powder room and surrounding areas.

o Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety.

o Utilize and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.

o Support management initiatives aimed at enhancing material quality, manufacturing practices, and overall plant efficiency.

o Commit to following the Fusion quality policy along with related procedures and initiatives.

o Perform additional tasks as assigned by plant supervision.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous manufacturing experience, ideally with 1-2 years in a foundry environment.

· Familiarity with operating a forklift and overhead crane.

· Mechanical aptitude is preferred.

· Basic computer proficiency, strong mathematical skills, clear handwriting, and effective verbal communication abilities.

· Capability to wear air-purifying respirators and all other required PPE.

· Team-oriented mindset.
