Job Overview

POSITION: Production Operator - Grinding and Blending

As a vital member of our team, the Production Operator will engage in various plant operations, including machinery handling, forklift driving, and laboratory sampling. Responsibilities also encompass grinder and votator operations, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the facility.


WORK SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift - 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with weekend shifts extending to 12 hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general labor tasks within the plant.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and take samples of products.
  • Monitor product temperatures and manage votator operations.
  • Sample both fresh and frozen meat products.
  • Unload raw materials and load finished goods.
  • Manage Plate Freezer operations.
  • Conduct inventory counts as required.
  • Operate stretch wrappers and pressure washers.
  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste.
  • Address spills and ensure safety in the work environment.
  • Keep trash and product barrels emptied.
  • Thoroughly clean equipment as needed.
  • Assist in resolving issues with screw conveyors.
  • Perform painting tasks as directed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

  • This position does not typically involve supervising others.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to climb stairs and silos.
  • Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, climbing, and overhead work.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
