Facility Security Officer

ASM Global, a leader in the management of public assembly venues, is seeking a dedicated Facility Security Officer. This role operates under the general oversight of the Security Manager, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals and property within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to maintain a secure environment for patrons, staff, vendors, and participants.
- Address any disturbances or issues that may arise during events, including the authority to request individuals to leave the premises when necessary, and to inform the security manager or law enforcement.
- Prepare incident reports and engage in discussions with the security manager to evaluate security protocols.
- Inspect safety systems, including alarms and fire extinguishers, to ensure they are operational and assess the premises for any signs of unauthorized access.
- Examine all entry points, including doors and windows, to confirm they are secure.
- Assist in managing crowd control both inside and outside the venue.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including fires, severe weather, and other critical situations.
- Maintain professionalism while interacting with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
- Document all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Keep accurate records of keys and other equipment issued for facility use.
- Be available for part-time, irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in security is preferred.
- Knowledge of security protocols related to event management.
- Ability to manage conflicts and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Physical capability to navigate the facility, including lifting up to 50 pounds and extensive walking.
- Proficient in using computers, particularly Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with operating standard office equipment, including radios, copiers, and fax machines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Valid driver's license and insurance to operate a vehicle in the United States.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
