Tetra Tech is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineering Intern to join our team. As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will assist our structural engineering staff on various projects, including commercial, education, civil works, water, wastewater, stormwater, utilities, forensic, historic renovation, and other municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist structural engineers on a multitude of projects, including design calculations, forensic and investigation reports, and structural system modeling.
- Prepare design calculations of structural systems, including preparation of structural plans and details.
- Collaborate with writing forensic and investigation reports, and become familiar with local and state codes, as well as Federal Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) guidelines.
- Define structural systems by modeling in Revit and Risa 3D, and utilize Revit 3D to produce structural plans and details.
- Currently enrolled in second, third, or fourth year of Civil Engineering Degree, with Structural focus.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience, preferred.
- Ability to obtain EIT Certification in the near future.
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Articulate and concise use of written and verbal English language communications.
- Must be a self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working well with a team/group.
- Understand Mathcad, and other engineering software/structural engineering software tools, to produce calculations as part of design and analysis tasks.
- Participate in Construction Administration activities by reviewing shop drawings and submittal.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit Structure, preferred.
- Position requires periodic travel, approximately 5%.
