Job Title: Bartender

At Mika Coral Gables, we are seeking a skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team. As a key member of our service staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a refined and sophisticated dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide world-class service to guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable dining experience.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and offer expert advice on food and wine pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Craft beverages with precision and attention to detail, following our exacting standards and recipes.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with liquor, wine, and supplies, maintaining a polished and professional appearance.
  • Take orders accurately, ensuring guest preferences and dietary restrictions are accommodated, and serve food and beverages promptly and with precision.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, and upsell food, wine, and special menu items to enhance the dining experience.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless timing and service of dishes, and handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism.
  • Process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and billing systems, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience as a bartender in a fine dining restaurant, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Passion/knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails, with a strong understanding of mixology and the ability to create unique and innovative cocktails.
  • Previous experience as a Bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment, with a strong understanding of service standards and protocols.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure, and the ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with the ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time, and the ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
Working Conditions:
  • Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time, including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
  • Ability to work long days when required by business demands, and to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 40lbs, and to work both indoors and outdoors.
