Crane Service Technician Job Description

About the Role:

American Equipment Holdings is seeking a skilled Crane Service Technician to join our team in Grand Junction, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, and modernizations on electric overhead traveling cranes and mobile cranes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cranes and other equipment
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety-related issues
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns
  • Generate sales leads during service calls
  • Accurately document service reports
  • Install and start up new cranes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Travel may be required

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC theory and ability to troubleshoot 480VAC 3 phase motor control systems
  • A minimum of 2-year hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance experience
  • Aptitude for both electrical and mechanical environments
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Must pass drug-screen and background check
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven commitment to safety
  • Comfort with working at heights
  • Experience with Variable Frequency drives and PLC programming a plus
  • Crane maintenance experience a plus
  • Hydraulic systems experience a plus
