Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prod-Ops Independent Validation Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Independent Validation Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our ongoing IRAD development projects are correctly positioned to provide production products that meet affordability and producibility goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with IVT leads from other functional areas to determine if best practices are being utilized.
  • Partner with development programs to make accurate assessments of the programs application of best practices.
  • Service the IVT monitored development efforts and partner with program development efforts that are being completed on contract.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel 25-50% depending on work location.
  • 10+ years of Manufacturing or Development experience.
  • Knowledge of the product design process.
  • Experience with manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex.
Desired Skills
  • Bachelors or higher degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of missile system products, laser weapons systems, and/or similar complexity products.
  • Previous MFC program experience.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
  • Previous experience in an affordability role.
  • Previous experience driving producibility into product designs.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation concepts and implementation.
  • Experience with manufacturing simulation / modeling tools.

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
