Job Title: Principal Systems Architect

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Architect to join our team in Palmdale, CA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex systems architectures that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and implement system architectures
  • Advise on the integration of new emerging technologies into our systems
  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required
  • Review and analyze technical requirements to ensure system architectures meet customer needs
  • Coordinate with team members to complete network configurations
  • Work flexible schedules, including 2nd shift and weekends, as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhD
  • Advanced knowledge of Red Hat and/or other Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Splunk and scripting/programming languages (e.g. Bash, Ansible, Python)
  • Knowledge of STIGs and STIG implementation, including DNS and Linux BIND
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with imaging, backup, and restore software and scripting
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage internal programs and delegate tasks
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes) and virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, RH-V)
  • Ability to work independently and provide progress updates on critical items
  • Experience in design, implementation, and sustainment of Linux/Unix systems and containerization technologies
