Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Denali Ingredients is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for conducting standardized tests on intermediate and finished food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. This includes checking the metal detector to ensure proper operation, gathering retention, microbiological, and control samples from raw materials and finished products, and preparing microbiological sample composites and paperwork for pickup by the laboratory.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct standardized tests on intermediate and finished food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Check the metal detector to ensure proper operation and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Gather retention, microbiological, and control samples from raw materials and finished products.
  • Prepare microbiological sample composites and paperwork for pickup by the laboratory.
  • Examine and approve product labels prior to production run.
  • Place product on hold and assist with investigations as needed.
  • Complete daily paperwork as assigned.
  • Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations, including SQF code, plant programs, GMPs, and policies.
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality problems and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Additionally, they must fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2 years of college and 1-2 years of experience preferred; or 4-year high school diploma and 3-5 years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret work-related documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and GFSI standards.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Organizational and strong communication skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work in and with teamwork.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write/query reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence.
  • Abilities in Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Climb ladders to inspect food vessels (i.e., tanks and tankers).

Salary:

$22-$24.00 per hour
