About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team in San Antonio. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a generous PTO program.

Job Description

The Senior Oncology Nurse Specialist will provide professional nursing care for patients with various types of cancer. This involves assessing patient health status, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient needs and provide education on treatment options, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care delivery.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests and coordinate scheduling for diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Act as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants, providing guidance on patient care and clinical operations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
  • A current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Five years of experience in oncology nursing
