Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Certified

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, addressing customers by name whenever possible.
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications, including gathering patient information and preparing labels.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to customer inquiries, handling tasks that don't require a pharmacist's expertise.
  • Process new prescription orders and refill requests, taking orders from or calling doctor's offices as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
  • Perform cash transactions, handle insurance claims, and maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
  • Assist with third-party insurance billing and troubleshooting, adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a licensed technician through a certified national program and ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.
Working Conditions:

This role involves a fast-paced work environment in a retail store setting, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugs.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks, including filling scripts, answering the telephone, and waiting on customers, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
