Responsibilities
In collaboration with the manager/director of Performance Improvement, the PI Coordinator RN will assist in the coordination, integration, and execution of organization-wide performance improvement initiatives to ensure adherence to company policies and state/federal regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key activities include:
- Conducting integrity reliability reviews and medical chart assessments.
- Data abstraction for quality outcomes studies and CMS Core Measures.
- Employing evidence-based practices to integrate research with clinical expertise and patient values for optimal care.
- Working within interdisciplinary teams to apply performance improvement methodologies aimed at minimizing waste, reducing errors, and enhancing efficiency.
- Utilizing informatics to effectively communicate and manage knowledge in alignment with clinical expertise and patient values.
Additionally, the PI Coordinator RN will educate staff on core measures and provide updates on new and enhanced indicators. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be essential for problem identification, resolution, cost containment, and the implementation of new services and performance measures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:
- Current and valid state RN License required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting, including at least two years of inpatient Performance Improvement/Quality Assurance experience preferred.
- Experience in reviewing charts for quality care issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple cases and directions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certification as a professional in healthcare quality preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR and computer skills required.
