Primary Responsibilities:

As a vital resource for program directors, administrators, and research personnel, you will:

  • Assist in securing and managing federal and non-federal research funding in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Oversee ongoing tasks such as budget formulation, invoicing, reporting, and administrative duties to ensure the successful management and closure of research grants and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related discipline is required.

Experience: A minimum of five years in pre and post-award grant management or clinical research finance is essential, with a preference for experience in a medical research or healthcare setting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven expertise in grant management, including budget development, proposal submissions, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various sectors to achieve common goals.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, along with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based systems, including MS Office applications.
  • A self-motivated and quick learner.

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with principal investigators to prepare and submit research grants.
  • Handle all administrative functions related to pre and post-award processes.
  • Serve as a resource for departments and research personnel by addressing inquiries and guiding them through funding opportunities.
  • Facilitate budget development and institutional approvals for research proposals.
  • Monitor grant accounts and provide financial reconciliation and reporting.
  • Assist in negotiations related to grants, contracts, and subcontracts.
  • Support the delivery of educational sessions on research grants for various audiences.
  • Review and refine policies and procedures for clarity and consistency.

Accountability:

Identify and implement improvements in work processes to enhance customer satisfaction and departmental goals. Stay informed about industry trends and developments through continuous professional engagement.

Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines while developing effective internal controls to ensure adherence to laws and accreditation requirements.
