Control Systems Technician

C&W Services is seeking a skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and control cabinets.
You will work closely with our Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems and improve material handling system reliability. Your expertise in motor controls, repair of control network components, and HMI components will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for mentoring junior technicians and contributing to a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Responsibilities:- Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems
- Maintain material handling control systems, industrial, motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
- Utilize Operation System Assessment reports to improve material handling system reliability through preventive maintenance tasks completion and identifies deficiency repairs
- Escalate to operations and network support resources for guidance and assistance to restore equipment back to operational mode with minimal downtime impact for Operations
- Communicate technical issues to RME and Operations Leadership
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of experience with Motor Controls (motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components)
- 2+ years of experience with repair of control network components
- 1+ years of experience with HMI components
- 1+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs
- 1+ years of experience with Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting
- Associates degree in Electronic Technology (or similar)
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/ programming
- Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems
- Project Management experience with the ability to train others
- Experience with robotic maintenance
- Experience with AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC's and PLC components
- Experience with SCADA systems and KPI's
- Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment
- Must have ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face shield, and composite-toed shoes
- Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment
- Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day
- Work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
- Regularly required to type on a computer for 1-2 hours per day

We also offer competitive pay, which may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
The compensation for this role is $36.24 per hour.
