Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. As a CNA, you will provide direct and indirect basic nursing care to geriatric, disabled, and/or cognitively impaired residents at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care following individual care plans to meet the therapeutic, preventative, restorative, spiritual, psychosocial, cognitive, and rehabilitative needs of residents.
  • Assist in patient mobility efforts, stand, and/or walk up to 75% of an eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
  • Work under the limited supervision of a Nursing Supervisor, with day-to-day direction by licensed nursing staff.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Experience providing basic patient care, professional communication, and medical recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
What We Offer

We offer flexible part-time positions with the option to pick up additional hours as desired, with no required overtime. Shifts are available AM, PM, NOC, holidays, and weekends. LTE jobs are limited to 1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.

Due to the nature of the positions, we will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated.
