About the Internship

Kingsbury Inc is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop your skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanical engineers in bearing application, design, analysis, hardware testing, and/or laboratory research.
  • Build upon university acquired knowledge to solve mechanical problems.
  • Perform advanced operational and mechanical analysis of bearings using both internally developed and external analysis codes (ANSYS, etc.).
  • Tasks may include CAD design of custom bearings, advanced performance analysis, and mechanical development and testing of new products and lab prototypes.
  • Work with both Sales and Manufacturing Departments to maintain a positive workflow of information.
  • Work with the Quality Department to help ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • You must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be currently working toward an engineering degree from an accredited University or College recognized by the US Secretary of Education and/or US Department of Education.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates interest in design and analysis through school projects and hobbies.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or ANSYS desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room environment. Working remotely is not available for this position.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other manufacturing and research facilities as well.
  • Travel and local commute between Kingsbury facilities and other possible non-Kingsbury locations may be required.
