Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at VCU Health. This role involves providing direct, age-specific care to patients under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.
- Function under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving.
- Handle, transport, access to, and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
- Completion of state-recognized CNA program or completion of first semester junior year in an accredited BSN program.
- One year of medical assistant work experience within the last three years or one year of care partner or equivalent work experience within the last three years.
This role requires working all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
This position involves prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion. It also requires problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, and logical thinking in a fast-paced environment with frequent and intense customer interactions.
