We are seeking a results-oriented Product Manager to help develop and enhance product experiences that utilize large language models, beginning with AskCR.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Product R&D within the Innovation Lab. This position offers a hybrid work model.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Impactful Contributions:

You will play a pivotal role in realizing the potential of AskCR by guiding a product that empowers consumers with accurate information about products and facilitates their actions in the marketplace.

This will involve a comprehensive understanding of the RAG architecture that underpins AskCR, evaluation methodologies to ensure quality outputs, and the significance of trust and safety features such as guardrails.

You will analyze data generated through AskCR usage, assessing user interactions and conversions; you will uncover insights regarding user intentions and identify areas for enhancement and new features to elevate the user experience.

Your expertise in Consumer Reports' internal content, testing data, and subject matter knowledge will enable you to define requirements for our evolving knowledge base and data pipelines.

Additionally, you will engage in rapid experimentation and prompt engineering to refine system inputs and outputs, progressively enhancing AskCR's efficiency and response quality.

As a Product Manager, you will take on a leadership role within our dynamic, cross-functional product team.

You will help establish our strategic direction, oversee daily operations, and execute our vision of delivering reliable information while assisting consumers in navigating a complex marketplace.

Collaboration with stakeholders across Consumer Reports will be essential to ensure that our development roadmap aligns with our performance objectives, all while adhering to CR's organizational mission and strategy.


QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with over 5 years of experience pioneering software product development, preferably within leading technology and data firms.

You have a proven track record of delivering products from concept to launch, demonstrating confidence in managing intricate projects and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve goals.

Your product acumen is evident, with familiarity in Product Management, Software Engineering, Strategy, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Design, Content, or Finance, bringing expertise in at least two of these areas.

Your consumer-centric approach is reflected in your history of delivering high-quality products that meet user needs and maximize impact.


Additional Preferred Qualities:

You are data-driven, relishing the challenge of delving into complex datasets to extract insights that enhance product experiences.

You embrace experimentation, consistently testing new ideas, documenting learnings, iterating, and improving. While data and experimentation guide your decisions, you are also comfortable making informed choices with incomplete information.

COMPENSATION AND DIVERSITY

At Consumer Reports, we are dedicated to fair and transparent compensation practices, striving to provide competitive, market-informed salaries. The target salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000, with most qualified candidates expected to fall near the midpoint of this range. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's unique combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
