Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician

Shift: 2nd shift (2 PM - 10 PM) or 3rd shift (10 PM - 6 AM)

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Assembly Technician will play a crucial role in supporting production operations by executing tasks assigned by the Assembly Maintenance Supervisors and Team Leaders. The primary focus will be on maintaining equipment availability to meet departmental efficiency targets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing hand and power tools to adjust, maintain, and repair machinery involved in automobile manufacturing.
  • Diagnosing and replacing faulty electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Conducting tests, adjustments, and reassembly of repaired equipment.
  • Performing equipment operation outside of production hours to ensure optimal performance.
  • Making necessary adjustments to enhance equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Documenting equipment issues, repairs, and maintenance activities using computerized or manual systems.
  • Modifying machinery and components as required to ensure smooth production runs.
  • Engaging in basic troubleshooting of robotic systems and electrical circuits.
  • Assisting in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with production teams to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Participating in shift rotations as necessary.
  • Exhibiting teamwork and leadership skills.

Qualifications:
  • Technical Associate's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in automated manufacturing.
  • A minimum of 4 years of technical experience in automated manufacturing is required.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge through assessments prior to hiring or promotion.
Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations.
  • Strong written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Mathematical proficiency for problem-solving and analysis.
  • Reasoning skills to identify problems and implement solutions effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk and work in production areas regularly.
  • Experience operating and repairing automated production equipment.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting with various physical demands. This position does not offer remote work options.
