Job Overview: ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital provides a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services in southern Michigan and Ohio. As a recognized leader in the management of cardiac emergencies, ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital excels in various medical disciplines including obstetrics, emergency care, and organ donation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts cardiac sonographic imaging and executes all necessary functions to ensure accurate interpretation of results.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure successful completion of imaging procedures.
- Administers cardiac stress tests, possessing a thorough understanding of various stress protocols and the equipment utilized.
- Applies and manages Holter/event monitors, ensuring proper setup and documentation.
- Performs outpatient EKGs as required.
- Participates in an 'on call' rotation for echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms after hours as needed.
- Acts as a resource for fellow technologists, students, and hospital personnel.
- Proficiently navigates and documents within the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Accepts assignments across the Metro Region as needed.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Associates Degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus on cardiac imaging or a minimum of 2 years of experience in echocardiology.
Skills:
Ability to perform comprehensive echocardiograms using established protocols. Strong communication skills to understand directions and respond to inquiries effectively. Must be capable of differentiating colors, managing exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and operating cardiac ultrasound machinery.
Proficient in data entry and retrieval from computer systems.
Licensure: Must be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or registry eligible through ARDMS or CCI, with the requirement to pass the exam within one year or obtain an approved extension.
Certification: Must maintain BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associates Degree in cardiovascular technology with a focus on cardiac imaging.
Skills: Experience in Cardiac Sonography, Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring, and knowledge of cardiac rhythms.
Working Conditions:
Personal Protective Equipment: Gloves, gowns, and masks as necessary.
Physical Demands: Must be able to navigate the department and between workstations, frequently moving, lifting, and/or carrying medium-weight objects and materials.
