Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Deliver ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions and under the supervision of a physicist.
- Maintain accurate treatment charts, including patient identity, treatment prescription, diagnosis, and calculations.
- Document all parameters of simulation and treatment in ARIA.
- Follow proper protocols for procedures and maintain technical/clinical competency in all routine procedures and equipment.
- Prepare rooms and equipment for patients, ensuring proper radiation doses are delivered and recorded daily.
- Assist in scheduling patients for appointments and transfer patients safely to treatment couches.
- Ensure patient treatment meets all expectations and safety guidelines.
- Deliver accurately prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy with minimal supervision.
- Maintain patient markings, observe patient reactions, and report accurate information to nursing staff and/or Radiation Oncologists.
- Perform weekly chart checks to verify accuracy of documentation, billing, and treatment.
- Submit appropriate CPT charges for services rendered.
- Simulate patients using CT simulators or clinical setups.
- Ensure equipment is warmed up daily and perform daily output checks.
- Adhere to safety and radiation policies for patient, staff, physician, and self protection.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy.
- 12-month certificate program in Radiation Therapy.
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
- Current licensure for the state of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change readily.
- ARRT registered in Radiation Therapy.
- Certified Medical Radiological Technologist (CMRT) in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Knowledge of ARIA and interfacing with Eclipse planning system.
- Experience with Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerator.
- CT Simulation setup experience.
