About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiation Therapy Technician to join our team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As a Radiation Therapy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform highly responsible operations support duties using independent judgment within defined departmental guidelines and according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist therapists with properly routing patients through scheduled clinic activities.
  • Address patient requests and needs or direct them to appropriate staff when needed.
  • Assist with therapy supply levels and linen management.
  • Aid in arranging inpatient transportation to and from clinic as needed.
  • May assist in scheduling patients and appointments.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Maintain current technical skills as needed by attending training programs and seminars to continue level of competency.
  • Identify and notify manager of patient care issues.
Requirements
  • High School diploma plus two (2) years related experience required.
  • May consider prior customer service experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in clinical or laboratory area. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
