Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Residents: Assist residents in ALFs, SNFs, and other post-acute facilities.
  • Providing Personal Care: Help residents with mobility, personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Monitoring Residents: Monitor residents throughout the shift and alert the broader nursing team to any concerns.
  • Reporting Vital Signs: Check temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs, and report any abnormal events to supervising staff.
  • Maintaining a Clean Environment: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by changing linens and helping to clean residents' rooms, etc.
  • Providing Companionship: Offer companionship and a compassionate, engaged ear to residents and their loved ones.
  • Communicating Effectively: Understand how to communicate with visitors, family members, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Possess a current Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Basic Understanding of Medical Terminology: Have a basic understanding of medical terminology and nursing care procedures.
