Position Overview

The Travel MRI Technologist role at Piedmont Henry Hospital involves performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures on a diverse patient demographic, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. This position requires adherence to established protocols and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS: Basic Life Support Certification
  • ARRT: Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Work Schedule
  • Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year required; first-time travelers are not accepted
  • Weekend Work: Every other weekend unless otherwise specified
  • Call Requirements: Yes
Patient Care Responsibilities

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Performing MRI scans on inpatients, emergency room patients, and outpatients.
  • Starting IVs, administering contrast, and utilizing PACS.
  • Maintaining a positive and efficient work environment with fellow technologists, nurses, physicians, and transport staff.
Technical Skills and Equipment

Technologists are expected to be proficient in:

  • Operating MRI machines from GE and Siemens.
  • Utilizing Epic for patient management.
Work Environment

The role involves working in a single MRI room with an average daily caseload of 15-25 patients. Scrub colors required are gray or black.

Compliance and Holiday Requirements

Full compliance with hospital policies is mandatory to ensure timely start dates. Additionally, travelers are expected to work during major holidays as outlined by hospital policy.
