Position: Assistant Retail Manager

Location: Main St. Old Saybrook Store 63

Role Summary:

The Assistant Retail Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the store in the absence of the Store Manager. This position is vital in supporting the Store Manager in all facets of store management, including operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Retail Manager will analyze business performance, focusing on profitability and strategizing for ongoing enhancements. This role also involves managing inventory and ensuring that all team members deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a welcoming shopping environment for all patrons.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Implement the training program for all Customer Service Associates (CSAs) and provide hands-on training to enhance operational skills.
  • Oversee daily task assignments and performance evaluations for all staff members. Assist with recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management of the store team.
  • Delegate responsibilities and ensure follow-up as needed.
  • Offer guidance, motivation, and coaching to team members.
  • Monitor and assess business processes and outcomes to achieve store objectives profitably.
  • Manage cash handling and lottery operations.
  • Uphold principles of Integrity, Honesty, and Respect in all interactions.
  • Assist the Store Manager with various tasks and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing and directing teams.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule based on business requirements, including potential shifts on weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills to address customer and employee issues.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Goal-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.
