Position Overview

The Engineering Excellence Associate role is part of a comprehensive program designed to enhance engineering skills and knowledge through diverse experiences within the organization.

Program Structure

This position entails a 24-month development program that includes various work rotations across multiple business units and client projects, each lasting approximately 4-6 months. Additionally, participants will engage in an intensive 8-week classroom-based New Engineer Development Program (NEDP).

Post-Program Placement

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be assigned to a suitable role within the organization, aligning their skills and interests with the business's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the specific rotation, responsibilities may include:

Application Engineer
  • Develop technical specifications for electrical and electromechanical power conversion systems in compliance with global and local standards.
  • Prepare specifications for sensors and automation equipment.
  • Conduct power system assessments to ensure adequacy for new equipment while adhering to utility standards.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals for optimal technical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance of systems with client requirements as outlined in project contracts.
  • Manage equipment costs and recommend feasible cost reductions.
Control Engineer - Industrial Systems
  • Gather necessary information to assess project requirements related to assigned tasks.
  • Support technical review meetings with clients as needed.
  • Design industrial control systems and software modules to meet engineering objectives.
  • Create Human Machine Interface (HMI) software to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide accurate status updates to relevant stakeholders.
Control Engineer - Energy & Infrastructure Solutions
  • Interpret client specifications and apply industry standards to ensure project compliance.
  • Create equipment specifications and drawings that accurately reflect project needs.
  • Prepare timely purchase specifications to meet project timelines.
  • Track revisions to specifications and drawings following established procedures.
  • Edit project drawings to reflect various configurations.
Development Engineer
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies that address client needs and enhance performance.
  • Assess the feasibility and benefits of integrating new technologies into existing systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to incorporate selected technologies into products.
  • Define necessary modifications to tools for effective engineering and commissioning.
Field Engineer
  • Commission drive systems and control software to meet design criteria.
  • Tune AC and DC drive systems for optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems.
  • Design and test system software and hardware to meet contractual obligations.
  • Provide commissioning status updates to relevant parties.
Sales Application Engineer
  • Prepare technical specifications for drive and automation systems based on client requirements.
  • Define project solutions in collaboration with clients and manufacturers.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for technical specifications.
  • Identify client feedback to enhance product features.
  • Develop viable technical solutions to address client challenges.

General Expectations

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in personal computer software and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Research experience in control systems, software engineering, or related areas.
  • Internship or cooperative education experience in relevant fields.
