Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough disassembly of vehicles to assist Service Advisors in evaluating damage for precise estimates
  • Identify all necessary repairs to minimize additional costs and reduce repair time
  • Adhere to estimates for all tasks performed
  • Organize parts properly to prevent damage
  • Repair vehicle bodies by reshaping or filling dents and welding broken components; ensure all gaps and fits meet industry standards; remove damaged panels and replace them with new parts, reassembling after painting
  • Utilize various hand and power tools safely (e.g., welder, soldering tools, cutting torch, hammers, wrenches, sanders, spray guns, etc.)
  • Prepare repaired surfaces by filing, grinding, and sanding before transferring vehicles to the Paint Department
  • Repair or replace damaged and defective components
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Follow all CARSTAR safety protocols and guidelines
  • Perform additional related tasks as needed, including washing vehicles and maintaining cleanliness in the workshop
  • Engage in physical activities such as reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting objects over 50 lbs

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Ability to comprehend instructions, written estimates, and work orders
  • Capable of multitasking and adapting to a dynamic work environment
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients
