Job Summary

The New York Public Library is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Aide to provide exceptional customer service to our patrons. This role will be responsible for assisting with various tasks, including reserves, inventory, circulation, and other related duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide public service and assist with outreach activities as part of a team
  • Assist with reserves, inventory, circulation, and other related duties
  • Provide assistance to patrons on the use of computers and other technology or software
  • Prepare print and non-print library materials for circulation, involving some data entry at a PC
  • Process patron applications, including data entry, filing, and related tasks
  • Inspect and sort print and non-print materials
  • Assist with creating and carrying out improvements to staff procedures and user experience of the Library
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Proficiency with Envisionware and Sierra preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer services including on-line searching and Library resources preferred

This is a non-exempt position, and the salary will be determined based on the Library's pay equity policies.
