About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Treatment Nurse to join our top-notch team. As a Wound Care Treatment Nurse, you will be responsible for administering treatments as ordered by the physician, assessing and evaluating skin integrity, and documenting patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer treatments as ordered by the physician in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health Minimum Standards and facility policies.
  • Assess and evaluate skin integrity of all new admissions within 72 hours.
  • Document patient care on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise the care given to residents in activities of daily living.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and updating therapeutic and rehabilitative plans of care for each resident.
  • Timely completion of wound reports, narrative notes, and other forms as required.
  • Keep clinical records in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health Minimum Standards and Whitehall North policies.
  • Participate in education and teaching of team members, families, and residents.
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with the resident's physician and family members.
  • Consistent and professional communication with the nursing supervisor, ADON, DON, and Director of Wound Care.
Requirements
  • Current State of Illinois RN license.
  • 2 years of experience with Wound Care.
  • Knowledge of nursing care for geriatric population specifically related to acute and chronic illness.
