Position Overview:

Down to Earth Organic & Natural is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Pastry Chef to join our team. This role involves supervising all aspects of pastry production, enhancing our deli offerings, and ensuring exceptional service quality for our patrons.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrates unwavering standards of integrity, accountability, and respect.
• Responds effectively to customer inquiries and manages challenging situations with grace, delivering prompt and friendly service.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
• Fosters a collaborative team environment.
• Expertise in baking techniques: accurately follows recipes and measurements.
• Minimum of six months of prior baking experience; strong knife skills are advantageous.
• Experience in natural foods retail is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers using a welcoming approach, ensuring their needs are met.
• Assist customers in locating products within the store, providing accurate and enthusiastic support.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Contribute to a productive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a culinary education program or equivalent professional experience.
• Certification in Food Safety.

Core Duties:

• Design and create unique desserts and pastries.
• Decorate cakes and specialty items with artistic flair.
• Consult with customers regarding custom bakery orders.
• Develop innovative recipes and production methods.
• Implement creative merchandising strategies for bakery products.
• Mentor and motivate team members.
• Specialize in bread making.
