Position Summary:
This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in one of the most sought-after trade positions within the construction sector. Candidates will receive training in essential skills across various trades, including Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Welding, or Sprinkler systems. The ideal candidate will work closely under the guidance of a Construction Foreman, engaging in a variety of daily tasks that include:
- Organizing and preparing materials
- Installation of pipes or sheet metal
- Loading and unloading materials
- Reading plans and specifications
- Operating tools and machinery
Training will equip you for fieldwork as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled trade duties under supervision, including inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal
- Follow established guidelines and instructions to execute job functions
- Assist in setting up tools and equipment
- Transport tools and materials to job sites
- Support experienced technicians with necessary materials and tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist in lifting and securing materials
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Qualifications:
- 6 months of work experience or equivalent vocational training
- Commitment to the company's Trades Training Program
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Willingness to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks as required
- Availability to report to various job sites and work flexible hours
Work Environment:
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Potential for moderate to high noise levels
- May involve working in confined spaces or at heights
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of construction equipment and tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Must have good vision and hand-eye coordination
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous leadership or technical experience
- Interest in long-term career opportunities in construction
