Role Overview:

As a controls systems technician at Johnson Controls, you will execute assigned system commissioning utilizing Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.

Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues, as well as responding to basic warranty inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load system-level controller software.
  • Conduct basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (such as sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all necessary commissioning documentation.
  • Keep management and relevant contractors or customers informed of job progress and challenges.
  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic testing equipment.
  • Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
  • Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and participate in required safety training, maintaining a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated technical skills.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and listening abilities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with low voltage/120 volt wiring is preferred.
