Job Overview

Cypress HCM is a leading designer and manufacturer of solar cells and PV Modules for the renewable energy industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to ensure our overall quality control of products and processes.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000, with an additional annual bonus eligibility of up to 10% of salary. This role offers excellent benefits and opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic industry.

Responsibilities
  • Develop processes, test procedures, and implement systems to ensure solar modules and processes meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop quality controls and Standard Work Instructions (SWI's).
  • Monitor variations in scrap products and raw materials rejected at production steps.
  • Analyze data to define corrective actions and lead root cause/corrective action activities.
  • Suggest improvements in quality controls and SWI's to reduce scraps and enhance product performance.
  • Train Quality Technicians, Lead Hands, and Production Operators on SWI's, quality, and process issues.
  • Create statistical analysis and reports on raw material and finished product quality.
  • Suggest improvements to the Leadership Team on production recipes and implement approved changes.
  • Develop, implement, test, analyze, revise, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare PPAP submissions and approvals (Customers and Suppliers).
  • Perform root-cause analysis and apply corrective/preventive actions.
  • Champion Control Plans, PFMEAs, and related inspection and testing activities.
  • Maintain ongoing defect-prevention activities through FMEA reviews.
  • Participate in design reviews internally and externally.
  • Perform process, system, and dimensional audits.
  • Conduct dimensional layouts and MSA studies for new and existing programs.
  • Lead new product launches for all quality-related documentation.
  • Implement SPC and liaise with suppliers and customers as needed.
  • Review supplier SCAR's and 8D's. Improve supplier quality training and work with suppliers.
  • Review RMA Claims for accuracy. Oversee the RMA program in-house.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to produce and maintain all documentation required for the Quality manual in accordance with ISO standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or Physics-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in high-volume, high-tech manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical software packages like IMP or Minitab.
  • Familiarity with PV-related certifications, including UL1703, IEC 61215, IEC61730-1, and IEC61730-2.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/JIT, Six Sigma methodologies, and Total Quality fundamentals.
  • Module manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Certified Quality Engineer accreditation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, MRP, and ERP systems preferred.
